Project’s advisors
Robert Stoner
Robert Stoner is the deputy director for science and technology at the MIT Energy Initiative (MITEI), and founding director of the MIT Tata Center for Technology and Design .
He is currently a member of the MIT Energy Council, the Science and Technology Committee of the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), the Aspen Institute’s US-India Track-II Dialogue, and the Rockefeller Foundation-funded Global Commission to End Energy Poverty on which he serves as secretary.
Philippe Dewitte
Philippe has an industrial experience in the design of energy-related products and their applications (Danfoss), of 30 years, stationed in different countries, China, Germany, France. And a research experience at Armines (Energy center of ‘Ecole des Mines de Paris’ ) of 7 years. Philippe ensured the animation at the beginning of the European certification program of the performances of refrigeration compressors
(ASERCOM).
Stéphane Watts
Graduated in 2001 from the IN Toulouse (France), in Mechanical Engineering and Energy. He held multiple R&D positions within companies in railways (Alstom), naval defense (DCNS) and refrigeration (Danfoss), before joining EXOES in 2015 as Head of Engineering, member of the board, focusing on volumetric machines. He runs now his own business as Thermal Management Consultant, specializing in scroll technology and supporting EU H2020 projects.
Thiébaut Kientz
Thiébaut Kientz is a consultant with over 15 years of experience in R&D and intellectual property. He co-founded EXOES, where he pioneered Rankine cycle solutions for waste heat recovery, particularly in the automotive sector. His expertise spans diverse fields, including renewable energy, vehicle powertrains, water filtration and space propulsion. With a background in materials engineering, he enjoys working on sustainable technologies and defining roadmaps to protect key innovations for a desirable future.
Our engagements
” Working towards the energy transition by combining a disruptive technology to a strong commitment for energy efficiency “
The innovation
We focus to reduce the environmental impact of our thermal machine. Though the standardized conception of the cells, we ensure a robust and modular solution. They can easily be added and replaced in order to develop the useful power meanwhile keeping the efficiency.
Project core
We started from the observation that no technological or economically viable solution exists to exploit low temperatures waste sources which represent half of the overall deposit in industry.
Our mission at Cixten: offer an effective solution to the challenges of energy efficiency and decarbonization of industry.
Our technology makes it possible to convert waste heat from 60°C in order to valuate already produced energy instead of consuming resources.
We propose this conversion into several energy vectors: .
- electricity in order to reduce your energy costs through self-consumption;
- in gas compression to optimize your utilities ;
- or in increasing the thermal level of your waste to power your heat demands ;
Collaboration
The success of our innovation is reinforced through an efficient network and industrial partnerships. Our thermal conversion machine is a technological response to your demand to improve your energy efficiency and to reduce the carbon footprint.
As a result, our technological evolution has been rigorously guided by your feedback. We ensure that our solution meets the practical requirements of key application areas.
Excellence and safety
By adopting a proactive approach in risk assessment and applying best quality management practices, we ensure the reliability and safety of our thermal machines. We integrate the customer requirements early in the development process with the target to deliver the best and reliable solution.
